Who we are

As part of ICANN's new gTLD program, punkt.wien GmbH applied for the administration and marketing of .WIEN as an independent top-level domain (TLD) for the Viennese community on the Internet in 2011 with a letter of authorisation from the City of Vienna and was awarded the contract. Since then, residents, businesses and organisations in Vienna have been able to register their place on the Internet under .WIEN.
